Renee's Pottery Portfolio

This work was done when I was in college at Sam Houston State University in 1999.  I really
enjoyed working with Majalica.  I played in the studio and felt I was connected to a deep
inner connection with creativity and spirituality along with an expression of my soul beyond
practical understanding.

The best thing of all was, Creating was just a lot of fun.

I worked with some Greek forms and inspiration from other artist to develop my skill in throwing and
altering techniques.

These works I created while drawing on a huge drawing pad laid down on the floor and just
let the shapes develop and then created them into clay forms.  Still working with low fire clay and Majalica.

These works were glazed with low fire class glazes.

These works are made with high fire clay and glazes.  I truly loved the gas kiln learning to fire it myself.  It was so great.  The oxidation and the reduction atmosphere was so fulfilling to create and maintain.

A permanent tile instalation at Sam Houston State University Art Department Wall. Mine is directly below, V

 Another smaller tile instalation.

A few sculpture forms.

These are works that I have done in my home studio with low fire clay and store bought glazes.
Also my amateur photography skills.
